Our railcar clients have very strict standards as to how clean is “clean”.  These standards were developed and Governed by the Association of American Railroads (AAR) in their Field Manual of Interchange Rules and the Association of American Railroads Manual of Standards and Recommended Practice (collectively, the “Laws”). Based on these standards, L&R has developed cleaning procedures for railcars that meet or exceed these high standards.

These procedures include:

  • Confined space permits.
  • Documentation of remaining commodities or “heels”.
  • Certificates of Disposal/Recycling.
  • Photos of cleaned railcars.

L&R follows strict AAR Standards. Our goal is to assist our clients by cleaning railcars quickly and cost effectively, while complying with EPA regulations for disposal of their waste. L&R’s crews are uniquely qualified to perform your railcar cleaning due to their extensive experience and ongoing safety training and the use of the newest and most efficient cleaning equipment.
